The season has technically started, but I think it's still early enough to fairly submit my predictions. Feel free to add yours to the comments.

A series victory!

Winning the series against Cleveland was certainly not expected the way the Twins limped into Cleveland after being clobbered in Toronto. With C.C. Sabathia on the mound for Cleveland it seemed even less likely the Twins could win the rubber game of the series.

The Twins are 7-8 since the All-Star break and in their 7 wins they've outscored their opponent by an average of just 2 runs. In all wins they didn't allow the opponent to score more than five runs, so it's been pretty all pitching in those games.

The Twins offense impressively took back Toronto's five run lead by scoring 2 runs in the eighth and 3 runs in the ninth. The fought threw 13 innings, but in the end they came up just a bit short and the Jays won 9 to 8. The large deficit, not surprisingly, was the result of Ramon Ortiz.

The Twins will return home on Friday night after a 9 game road trip that started out rough, but finished on a more positive note with two straight victories over Texas. The Twins will hope to keep the momentum going against a Toronto team that's recovered a bit after losing their first 9 games of May.

Twins win second straight series

Despite winning the final two series of the road trip the Twins ended up with a losing record of 4-5 on the trip thanks to the sweep by Cleveland. The Twins defeated the Rangers in the third game of that series by a score of 5 to 3 on Wednesday and will now get a day of rest on Thursday before opening up the weekend series at home against Toronto.

The Blue Jays didn't have a pitcher that could shut down the Twins' bats tonight. After falling behind 4-0 early in the game, the Twins batters came back with 13 unanswered runs.
