Twins sign 3B Mike Lamb
The Twins signed their second former Houston Astro infielder of week, offering Mike Lamb a 2-year deal worth $6.6 million with a club option for 2010. Lamb has not surpassed 400 AB since his rookie season of 2000 with the Texas Rangers. He spent his years in Houston playing behind third baseman Morgan Ensberg.
Handed a victory by Texas
The Twins' offense tried it's hardest to lose Friday night's series opener against the Texas Rangers, but ultimately the Rangers proved to be the worse of two bad teams.
Silva pitches well, gets support
Much to my surprise, Carlos Silva put together a good start on Monday agains the Texas Rangers. It was one of those nights where he could've given up 6 or 7 runs thanks to 15 runs in the first 6 innings by Minnesota's offense. It's good to see Silva put together a decent start. The Twins need to shore up the bottom half of the rotation if they have any chance of finding themselves in the playoffs this fall.

Twins 15, Rangers 5
Since the 1-0 loss to Kansas City last Thursday, the Twins offense has shown strong signs of improvement. Most notably, they're getting hits from guys in the middle of the lineup like Torii Hunter and Michael Cuddyer. Tuesday night, Justin Morneau joined in the fun while contributing 2 homers and 6 RBIs to the Twins 15-5 trouncing of the the Texas Rangers. A little more than a month ago the Twins scored more runs in a game than they did in all of 2005 with 13 runs against Toronto. Tonight, they even surpassed that.
