Facing Elimination
The Twins have now dropped the first two games of the series making an early exit in the playoffs more likely. The supposed dome-field advantage has been non-existant for the Twins in recent years as they've lost 6 straight home games in the playoffs. The Twins will hope to have better luck on the road on Friday.
Blunders Cause Another Loss
After the worst start to a season of his career, Brad Radke has put together two pretty good outings and the Twins have still lost both of them. Baseball is a funny game; for two months we cursed about how the starting pitching has let us down. Now we've entered June and seen three good starts but have only managed three combined runs in those games. The worse thing though, is that we're losing games that we should be winning. Errors and situational blunders have piled up this season and have played a partial role in the lack of success in the win column.
Athletics 6, Twins 7
The Athletics came into the dome riding the momentum of series victories over the Yankees and Mariners, but the 4-run lead they established early in the game wasn't enough to hold off the Twins. In front of a sell-out home opener crowd, the Twins recorded their second victory of the season.
