A couple more gold gloves this year?

Doug Mientkiewicz is the last Twin not named Torii Hunter to win a gold glove. That came in 2001. Hunter has taken home 6 straight gold gloves running form 2001 to last season and may very well win the prize again in 2007, if for no other reason than reputation.

Japan All-Star Series

MLB's globalization efforts are turning baseball into a year event. March brought us the World Baseball Classic and November will see the inaugural Japan All-Star Series featuring a team of MLB "All-Stars" against Japan's best players. Taking a look at the MLB roster, it's clear that the term All-Star might be an exaggeration, but what more can you expect after a long regular season has just ended?

The Twins dropped the series after losing the 3rd game to the Blue Jays by a score of 6 to 3. Mauer, Kubel and Castro had the day off in preparation for tomorrow's day game in Cleveland (and also because of a LHP tonight).

The Blue Jays didn't have a pitcher that could shut down the Twins' bats tonight. After falling behind 4-0 early in the game, the Twins batters came back with 13 unanswered runs.
