The Twins couldn’t pull off the Series victory and they now find themselves as many games behind the White Sox as they were before the series started: 8 1/2 games. The White Sox bats were too much for Scott Baker as they beat up on him for 3 runs in the second inning and scored again in the 4th and 5th before he was finally pulled. Baker gave up 2 homeruns and 5 total runs in 4 2/3 innings.

The Twins bats spent the entire game trying to play catchup, but never got closer than 2 runs. A Justin Morneau sac fly followed Torii Hunter and Michael Cuddyer singles to score the Twins first run of the game in the second. Hunter also hit a solo homer in the 4th which made the score 4-2. The Twins would add their only other run of the game on a Shannon Stewart single in the 7th.

Looking Ahead

The Twins will head to Detroit for three games starting tomorrow. Detroit just got done beating up on the Indians and are arguably baseball’s hottest team right now.
