Twins 4, Rangers 6 Twins 4 at Rangers 6 May 8th, 2006 at 11:30 pm
Brad Radke’s start last week turned out to be what we all expected – mostly a result of the team he was pitching against. Texas does have some good hitters, so maybe I’m being a bit too harsh on him, but with the way his season has gone so far he doesn’t exactly deserve the benefit of the doubt. Radke managed to get through the game without surrendering any homeruns, but he did give up 4 doubles during another of his batting practice outings.
It was kind of a let down to lose after Johan’s big day. I, perhaps naively, hoped that yesterday’s game would mark a turning point in what’s been a dysmal season, thus far. This game against Texas wasn’t exactly embarrassing though, so there’s still hope that the Twins can climb back into respectability. The Twins got some hits and put more than 1 or 2 runs on the board. They also got pretty good pitching from Reyes and Eyre in the bullpen.
Game Notes
- Cuddyer continued his hot-streak, going 2-for-4 with a double today. He’s now batting .323. Let’s keep him in the lineup, Gardy!
- Hunter is also continuing to hit. He was 2-for-4 and has his average above .250.
