Twins 3, White Sox 7 Twins 3 at White Sox 7 April 23rd, 2006 at 4:08 pm

It was the same story in this game as it’s been though far too many games this year. The Twins got a terrible start from Carlos Silva and weren’t able to get nearly enough runs on the board. The Twins played poorly all weekend and the White Sox looked great.

It’s unfortunate that we lost Shannon Stewart and Luis Castillo for the biggest Series of the season so far, but the team still should’ve played better. It’s getting to the the point where the “off to a slow start” excuse won’t work anymore for the starting pitching. There’s not much I have, or want to say about this game, so I’ll just skip to the notes.

Game Notes

  • Homeruns continued to kill the Twins. Silva gave up 4 longballs today.
  • Joe Mauer hit his first homerun of the season in the 6th inning. It was a solo shot.
  • The White Sox had 6 batters in the lineup who are hitting over .300. The Twins had 1 (Mauer).
  • The Twins are 1-8 on the road this season, and will head to Kansas City on Tuesday. Kansas City just took 2 of 3 from Cleveland this weekend.
