Inter-division games are the most important games you can play. The Twins have now played a series against every time in the Central Division. Here’s how they’ve gone.
- vs. Cleveland: Swept in 3 games
- vs. Chicago: Swept in 3 games
- vs. Kansas City: Won Series 2-1 (Against the worst team in baseball)
- vs. Detroit:
Swept in 3 gamesPulverized in 3 games
Sunday’s game can be summed up with 1 sentence: The Twins got 2 hits in the game.
Fortunately, the month of April is over and we can look ahead to 7 straight days of baseball at the dome (2 of which are against KC!). Also, we have Scott Baker and Johan Santana (the only two real starters we’ve had this season) pitching the next two games.
Get out to the dome this week and show the Twins you still care. They can only get better from this point on.
Player News
Ruben Sierra was placed on the 15-day DL, less than two weeks after returning from it because of a strained left biceps muscle. That’s what happens when you sign senior citizens. Dennys Reyes has been recalled to help the worn-down bullpen. He pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings Sunday. Does anyone know if Reyes can swing a bat?

A tough week for the Twins. Hopefully playing the next 5 games at home against two weak hitting clubs like Seattle and Kansas City will help get Minnesota back on track. Especially considering that after those 5 games, the schedule looks rather rough – 12 straight games against Detroit, Texas and the Chicago White Sox.
If I were a Twins fan I would my team could enter that difficult 12 game stretch with a 4-1 record in their last 5. Good luck!
You have a good, young pitcher going tonight to get it started.
