Tour the Nation April 11th, 2006 at 10:58 pm
Twins Nation is now a little more than 3 weeks old and traffic to the site is starting to grow, so I want to take a moment to explain all the areas the site has to offer.
The Blog
We’ve got the regular blog format with the newest entries appearing on the left column of the home page. The plan is to make a new post about 3 or 4 times per week, with the actual amount depending on how much there is to discuss. Commenting is on for almost all entries and commenting is wide open (we don’t require registration).
Public News
The public news feature, located in the center column of the home page, hasn’t seemed to have caught on quite yet, but I’m hoping the experiment with it proves to be successful. Anyone is able to post news tidbits which will be viewable by all of Twins Nation directly on the home page. If you find an interesting news article or blog post somewhere else on the net, post it in the public news section so people can easily find their way to it. Again, commenting is always on for public news items.
The Scoreboard
The scoreboard is up in the right corner of every page. It’s where I post the score of the latest game as well as a recap and any notes I have regarding the game. You can access the recap and any comments that exist by clicking the date in the scoreboard box. Regular blog posts typically won’t contain information about the actual games, so be sure to check the scoreboard daily for that additional information.
The Forum
There is also a forum set up to discuss the Twins with the rest of Twins Nation. Registration is required to participate in the forum, but it’s quick and easy to register.
RSS Feeds
Twins Nation offers 3 different RSS feeds, one for each section of the site (Main Blog, Public News, Scoreboard).
