There's some bad news in Twins nation and it isn't that the Twins lost 9-0 to the Rangers on Tuesday night. The Twins website reported that Francisco Liriano will skip his next start with pain in his throwing elbow. They're downplaying it as a precautionary measure, but I can't help but be a little worried. Boof Bonser is being recalled to make the start on Wednesday, and I'm willing to bet his second go-around in the majors won't be much better than his first.

Liriano did have a history of arm troubles while in the Giants system, and that was a big part of the reason the Giants were willing to include him in the well-known trade a few years ago. The fear that an injury would pop up has lived in the back of my head since he started dominating in the rotation. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing too serious, and at least the Twins are taking the cautious route.

As for Tuesday's game, I didn't catch most of it. I picked up the just released Season 5 Curb Your Enthusiasm DVD and spent the evening watching a couple of episodes. All I missed was a 9-0 beating of the Twins by the Rangers the night after the Twins put up a lopsided 15-2 score against them.

Scott Baker faired ok through the first three innings of the start, then completely derailed in the 3rd, giving up 8 runs before leaving with just 1 out in the inning. Adam Eaton and the Ranger bullpen shut down the Twins to sail to an easy victory
