Series preview - Kansas City Royals, take 2 April 25th, 2007 at 6:00 am
Didn’t they just play these guys? They sure did, but it didn’t go so well, so they’ll give it another go.
Last week I said I’d be willing to give Sidney Ponson patience for one more start. He’ll face off against Odalis Perez who beat Ponson last Friday in the opening game of that series. Neither pitched particularly well as the 11-7 score indicated. Kansas City is among the lowest scoring offenses in the big leagues so far, so Ponson will have no excuses. The youngsters in AAA are off to nice starts this spring, so there’s no shortage of options.
The second game of the 2-game series will feature Boof Bonser against Zach Greinke.
The Royals were just swept by the White Sox (in 2 games) and they played late on Tuesday night due to a rain delay, so the Twins at least have that going for them.
