Santana to Mets: developing January 29th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
USA Today is reporting that a deal is in place to trade Johan Santana to the Mets for Carlos Gomez, Phil Humber, Kevin Mulvey and Deolis Guerra.
I don’t have a great minor league prospect mind, but at first glance this deal doesn’t leave me too excited. I’ll be sure to provide more as things are confirmed and I have some time to think it over.
Update: The Star Tribune now has the story up. The deal is pending physicals and, as expected, a contract extension for Santana.

I may not be a twins fan, but I gotta ask… What was your front office thinking? You had Phil Hughes and Milky Cabrera or Jacob Ellsbury sitting on the table a month ago.
By the way thank you for Garza, Bartlett and Morlan, oh and for not giving either the Red Sox or Yankees the best pitcher of the last decade. We down here in tampa appreciate it.
