Jesse Crain to return
On the heels of the Twins' 16-1 loss to Oakland, the Twins made a move to exchange Kevin Mulvey for Jesse Crain. Mulvey, a piece of the Johan Santana trade last year, made just 2 appearances. Mulvey allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in relief of Glen Perkins on Wednesday.
The Twins' pitching staff is in shambles right now. They just got done allowing 33 runs in 3 games to one of the worst offenses in the league. Perkins, who couldn't get out of the 2nd inning, will now visit a specialist after admitting to experiencing some shoulder discomfort while warming up recently.
Joe Crede, who has missed the past couple games, will see that same specialist after he complained of pain in his shoulder. The absence of Crede marks a significant defensive downgrade, which only stands to weaken the results of a Twins pitching staff that, for the most part, pitches to contact.
Wednesday's loss brought the Twins 1 game above .500. They trail the White Sox by 1.5 games and still trail the Tigers by 2.5. It's only going to get tougher, with the Twins opening a 4-game series against the red-hot Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Angels have won 6 of 7 since the All-Star break and are 13-5 in the month of July.

Ok, thanks Bob! What's the point in building a new stadium for a team that blows? You can take your Target field and throw it in your old man's woodchipper. That place will just be a good 'target' for all the white trash Minnesota honkeys and their honkey friends to flock to and watch their team suck it up for years to come. How many times did the Twins beat the Yankees this season? Oh, I remember...0! Like I said, Yankees take it in 3. Now go get back on your snowmobile and try and make it home in time for the nascar race.

@Joe
I don't think anyone on this site would say the Twins have an easy road ahead, but I'm not sure I understand your logic in trying to slam Minneapolis for being ‘honkey’ and ‘white trash’ when you’re defending Detroit?

So were all aware that the twins are playing horrible baseball right now and as i glance at my mlb scoreboard, theyre down 9 to 2 against the angels in the 4th. WHATS GOING ON HERE! This is the time of year where the twins need to pick it up, get a good 7 or 8 game win streak going, and make a move on the first place tigers. Hopefully its just another bad road trip, and they will rebound when they get back home. 1 thing is for sure, you cant be a contending team if you cant win games on the road.
