Humber clears waivers; Doubleheader today

Published: Apr 22, 2009 7:08 AM

Yesterday Philip Humber cleared waivers and was outrighted to the AAA Rochester Red Wings. This means that all 29 other MLB teams had no interest in putting Humber on their active roster. Humber will move into Rochester's starting rotation, which is beneficial for both him and the Twins. The Twins have very few clear options if any of their top 5 go down over the course of the season, so it's possible Humber could see a return as a starter, that is if he can get on track.

Last night's game was rained out and rescheduled as part of a doubleheader today. Both teams have off days on Thursday, so I would've thought they'd just push the series back a day, but doubleheaders are always fun.

The first game will start at 11:35 CT and feature Scott Baker against Tim Wakefield. The night game will start at 6:10 CT and has Francisco Liriano pitted against Brad Penny.

It looks like weather could be an issue for the second game tonight.
