Friday Night Fun
Friday's home game against the Seattle Mariners looks to be a fun time. Who cares if we're 12.5 games back as May winds down? Before the game starts Governor Pawlenty will sign the stadium bill and begin the countdown to April, 2010 (if it hasn't started already). This is one game I'd absolutely love to be at, but unfortunately the holiday weekend is calling me out of town. Ah well, television will have to do.
If the bill signing isn't enough to get you excited, then stick around for the whole game -- it should be a dandy. Francisco Liriano vs. Felix Hernandez. These are two young pitchers that have already made quite a few opposing hitters look absolutely foolish and there's a strong chance that the two will be doing even more of that over the next 10-15 years. Hernandez is coming off a couple bad starts, so the Twins might just have an edge in this game. Although if any offense is capable of bringing a pitcher out of a slump, it's our dear old Twins.
