Best Outfield Arms January 8th, 2008 at 7:00 am

John Walsh posted analysis of the best outfield arms of 2007 over at The Hardball Times. The entire piece is worth the read, but I just wanted to point out the Twins that appeared on the lists.

Michael Cuddyer topped the list for right fielders with newcomer Delmon Young ranked 4th on the same list. For center fielders, Torii Hunter was nearly at the bottom at #25. That likely comes as quite a surprise to many Twins fans and it certainly is a drop off from his #14 ranking in 2006.

Although he won’t likely see much time in left field in 2008, Craig Monroe actually had the second best arm there in 2007, according to Walsh’s analysis. Jason Kubel appeared toward the bottom of the list at #26 for left fielders. Of course in 2007, Delmon Young is likely to take the place in LF, so the Twins are left with two pretty good arms at the corner spots.

Now they just need to find someone to put between them.
