Another Twins win
I was in attendance at Tuesday night's game against the Orioles and while there wasn't a great deal of excitement from the bats, it was a good, close game to watch. Boof Bonser pitched well, only running into some trouble in the third inning. He left the game after 6 innings in a 2-2 tie and allowed just 3 hits (and 3 walks).
The bullpen again did it's job and sealed the victory while Joe Nathan earned his second save of the season. The Twins scattered 3 runs in the middle innings of the game with the go-ahead run actually beginning with another Rondell White walk.
White go this second walk in as many nights and Jason Tyner pinch ran. On a successful steal attempt, Tyner completely botched a head-first slide into second when he stuck in the dirt and had to scramble to beat what was a very late throw. Later in the at-bat he came around to score on a Jason Bartlett single.
Game Notes
- The Twins took full advantage of the Oriole's #3 catcher, Alerberto Castillo. They were 5 for 5 in the stolen base department with Tyner, Barltett, Luis Castillo, Torii Hunter and Joe Mauer each getting one.
- One of the few criticism's against Daniel Cabrera is his control and tonight 2 of the 4 batters he walked came around to score.
- Castillo and Mauer each had 2 singles in the game.
- The Twins had no extra base hits in the game.
- Pat Neshek hit a batter in the 7th, but was otherwise perfect. He got the win.
