Another game slips away
Things were looking good when the Twins got to Blue Jay starter Jesse Litsch early. They knocked him out of the game in the fourth inning after scoring 4 runs, and then added a couple more runs in the fifth.
Although Kevin Slowey left the game in the sixth inning with the lead, he got roughed up for 13 hits and 5 runs in his second consecutive bad outing. Slowey has allowed 4 deep balls and 22 hits through 2 starts--in other words, he's been throwing batting practice. Unfortunately, the bullpen couldn't hold the lead that the offense created, and the Twins lost by a score of 8-6. It's the team's 3rd straight loss and drops them to a record of 3-5.
Game Notes
- Brian Buscher got his first start of the season and Joe Crede got the day off. Buscher was 1 for 2 with a triple, one of the few you'll likely ever see from him. He also drew a walk.
- Luis Ayala was credited with the blown save and the loss. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in the eighth inning.
- Jason Kubel got his first home run of the season.
- #9 Hitter Travis Snider hit 2 home runs in the game, 1 off Slowey in the third, and the game winning 2-run homer off Ayala in the eighth.

Thankfully an MLB season is 162 games...they have to turn it around eventually, right?

this is early in the season but this team is not a team. Didn't they have spring training? They look like they;ve never played together before. Can't hit, can't field, can't pitch. Gonna be a long season.
