All-Star recap

It looked like the NL was going to end it's nine game All-star win streak as Trevor Hoffman, one of the most prolific closers of all time, came on for the ninth inning. The game had been a 2-1 pitchers duel up to that poing. With 2 outs the AL pulled out a single and two doubles to take a 3-2 lead and Mariano Rivera held that lead in the bottom of the inning.

A couple Twins got into the game. Joe Mauer caught the second half of the game and got two at bats. He was 0-2. Johan Santana pitched a quick seventh inning. He struck out one batter and after issuing a walk he got a double play to end the inning. As expected, Santana was able to pitch with Mauer behind the plate. Francisco Liriano didn't make it into the ballgame.

Home field advantage is now locked up for the AL, and now all the Twins need to do is somehow figure out a way to get there. It's not going to be easy.
