The Marlins might be getting a new stadium. The plan sounds a lot like the Twins stadium deal–The team will pitch in a small amount while taxpayers pay a majority of the cost under the promise of getting a more competitive team. At least they’re going to get a roof.
There’s been virtually no talk on the Santana front in the last few days. Rumors were that something was going to get done by Christmas, but I agree with Twins Territory–it’s hard to see something happening all of a sudden in the next week. With names like Dan Haren and Carlos Silva being pulled off the market, the pool of free agent starting pitchers is starting to thin out, which can only improve the Twins’ power in negotiations.
