Minnesota star Joe Mauer got two hits in his return from a four-day absence, and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Twins 3-1 Tuesday. Mauer had been out while resting a sore right shoulder. The three-time AL batting champion and reigning MVP is hitting .600 this spring. Twins opening-day starter Scott Baker threw four shutout innings.

Seattle Mariners ace Cliff Lee was ejected after throwing a pitch over the head of Chris Snyder in a 13-5 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Lee collided with Snyder in the first inning while trying to back up a play at home plate. Lee denied he was later trying to retaliate. Former Minnesota Twins shortstop Greg Gagne has been elected to the team's Hall of Fame. Gagne spent 10 seasons with the Twins and was part of the World Series-winning teams in 1987 and 1991. He'll become the 22nd member of the Twins Hall of Fame when he's inducted Sept. 4. Gagne also played for the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Dodgers.
