Garza - Young deal almost done
A huge trade with the Tampa Bay Rays appears to be imminent. The reported trade would send Matt Garza, Juan Rincon and Jason Bartlett to Tampa Bay in exchange for 22-year old former first-round pick Delmon Young, Brendan Harris and former Twin prospect Jason Pridie.
What will you do when Hunter returns?
Despite signing a 5 year, $90 million contract with the Angels this week, Torii Hunter will be playing the in the Metrodome on opening day 2008. The Angels are scheduled to come to Minnesota for a 4-game series beginning March 31st.
The Santana talks
Joe Christensen has done a nice job clarifying the recent rumors of negotiations between the Twins and Johan Santana.
Hunter signs with Angels
Torii Hunter's first playoff appearance came in 2002 when the Twins reached the postseason for the first time since 1991. The season ended with a 1-4 series loss to the eventual World Champion Anaheim Angels. On Thursday, Hunter ended his tenure with the Twins to join the Angels.
Gold Gloves for Hunter and Santana
Johan Santana joined Torii Hunter as the only Twins to win gold gloves since the 2001 season when Doug Mientkiewicz won the award for first base. The 2007 Gold Glove winners for both leagues were announced on Tuesday.
